SportsSignal Privacy Policy

1. Who Can Use SportsSignal

SportsSignal is intended for individuals 21 years of age or older.

SportsSignal is a sports information and notification service. It does not accept wagers, operate a sportsbook, hold betting funds, or facilitate betting transactions.

Some SportsSignal features may provide information relating to sports betting, including sportsbook odds and betting-related alerts. Users are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and age requirements in their jurisdiction.

SportsSignal may expand to include additional sports information and features in the future, including features relating to fantasy sports.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you create or use a SportsSignal account, we may collect:

• Email address
• Display name
• Account information associated with your authentication provider
• Sports preferences
• Preferred sportsbook
• Alert preferences and thresholds
• Teams and games you choose to follow or watch
• Notification preferences
• Feedback you provide about alerts
• Subscription and entitlement information

You may create an account using email and password authentication or available third-party authentication options, including Google, Apple, or Microsoft.

SportsSignal does not receive or store your third-party authentication provider password.

Waitlist Information

If you join the SportsSignal waitlist, we collect the information you provide, which currently includes:

• First name
• Email address

Notification and Device Information

To provide notifications, SportsSignal may process information associated with notification delivery.

For native mobile notifications, SportsSignal associates your SportsSignal account with a notification identifier used by our notification service.

For web push functionality, SportsSignal may store information associated with your browser’s push subscription, including:

• Push subscription endpoint
• Push subscription keys
• Platform
• User-agent information
• Relevant timestamps

The current native iOS notification implementation does not store the underlying Apple push token in SportsSignal’s database.

Usage and Technical Information

SportsSignal records certain usage information, including onboarding events and information such as:

• App version
• Platform
• Event type
• A randomly generated anonymous identifier

These onboarding events may subsequently be associated with your SportsSignal account after registration.

Our hosting infrastructure also uses basic website analytics. This may involve information such as browser/user-agent information, language preferences, referring information, requested page URLs, and information associated with the request, including IP address.

Information We Do Not Collect

SportsSignal does not intentionally collect:

• Precise location information
• Health information
• Contact lists
• Advertising identifiers
• Payment card numbers
• Bank account information
• Sportsbook account passwords or credentials

SportsSignal does not use advertising or cross-app tracking technologies to track you across unrelated apps or websites.

3. How We Use Information

We use information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your SportsSignal account
• Authenticate you
• Provide sports information and alerts
• Apply your alert rules and preferences
• Maintain your watchlists and tracked games
• Deliver push notifications
• Provide subscription and Pro functionality
• Process and maintain subscription entitlements
• Respond to support requests
• Send transactional or service-related emails
• Understand how users interact with onboarding and the Service
• Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve SportsSignal
• Detect and address technical problems
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or use your information for targeted advertising.

4. Sports Data and Odds Information

SportsSignal uses third-party sports and odds data providers to provide game information, scores, schedules, and odds.

These providers may include services such as:

• The Odds API
• SportsDataIO
• TheSports
• CollegeFootballData
• MLB StatsAPI

Sports data providers are queried for sports-related information. SportsSignal does not send your personal information to these sports-data providers as part of ordinary sports and odds requests.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

SportsSignal may offer paid subscription features, including SportsSignal Pro.

Purchases made through the iOS application are processed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system.

SportsSignal does not receive or store your payment card number, bank account information, or other payment credentials used to make an Apple purchase.

SportsSignal uses RevenueCat to manage subscription information and entitlements. Information provided to RevenueCat includes information such as your SportsSignal account identifier and subscription/product identifiers.

SportsSignal may receive subscription status information, such as whether an entitlement is active, the associated product, subscription status, and relevant subscription dates.

Apple’s payment and subscription systems may separately process information according to Apple’s applicable privacy policies and terms.

6. Push Notifications

If you enable notifications, SportsSignal may use third-party notification services to deliver alerts to your device.

SportsSignal currently uses OneSignal for native notification delivery and browser push services for supported web push functionality.

For native notifications, SportsSignal uses your SportsSignal account identifier to associate your account with the notification service. OneSignal and the relevant mobile platform may maintain the device-level information necessary to deliver notifications.

Notification services may receive information necessary to deliver a notification, including the notification title, message, and relevant destination/deep-link information.

You can control notification permissions through your device settings and, where available, through SportsSignal’s notification preferences.

7. Service Providers

We use third-party service providers to operate SportsSignal.

These providers may process information on our behalf for purposes including authentication, hosting, subscription management, notification delivery, email delivery, and website analytics.

These services currently include:

• Supabase / Lovable Cloud
  Used for application hosting, authentication, and database infrastructure.
• RevenueCat
  Used to manage subscription information and entitlements.
• OneSignal
  Used for native push notification delivery.
• Apple
  Used for iOS distribution, authentication where applicable, In-App Purchases, and push notification infrastructure.
• Browser Push Services
  Used to deliver supported web push notifications.
• Email Delivery Services
  Used to deliver account and transactional emails.

We may use additional service providers as SportsSignal develops. When we do, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.

8. Analytics

SportsSignal does not currently use third-party advertising, attribution, or behavioral analytics SDKs such as advertising trackers or third-party analytics platforms.

SportsSignal does use first-party onboarding and product-interaction information to understand how users move through the Service.

Our hosting infrastructure also provides basic website analytics.

These analytics are used to understand usage of the Service, maintain the Service, and improve its functionality.

SportsSignal does not use this information to track you across unrelated apps or websites for advertising purposes.

9. Information Sharing

We may share information with service providers when necessary to operate SportsSignal.

Depending on the feature being used, information may be shared with:

• Supabase / Lovable Cloud for hosting, authentication, and database services
• RevenueCat for subscription management and entitlements
• OneSignal and applicable push providers for notification delivery
• Email service providers for account and transactional email
• Apple in connection with Apple’s platform, authentication, purchases, and notification infrastructure
• Hosting/analytics infrastructure providers for basic service analytics

Sports data and odds providers receive sports-related requests and are not provided with your personal information through those requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share your information with advertisers for targeted advertising.

10. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.

Certain alert information is automatically archived after approximately 96 hours.

Other categories of information may remain in our systems until they are deleted through applicable account deletion processes or otherwise removed as part of our operational practices.

We may retain limited information where necessary for legitimate business, security, fraud-prevention, legal, or compliance purposes.

11. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your SportsSignal account through the account/profile controls available within the application.

When you request account deletion, SportsSignal permanently deletes your account and associated application data and signs you out of the Service.

Some information may need to be retained where required by law or where reasonably necessary for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, or compliance purposes.

Apple specifically requires apps that support account creation to provide users with a way to initiate account deletion within the app, so having this flow in SportsSignal is an important part of our launch readiness.

12. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13. Children’s Privacy

SportsSignal is intended for users 21 years of age or older.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 21 for the purpose of providing SportsSignal.

If you believe that an individual under 21 has provided personal information to SportsSignal, please contact us at support@sportssignal.app.

14. Your Choices

Depending on the feature, you may:

• Update account information
• Change alert rules and preferences
• Manage notification preferences
• Disable notifications through your device settings
• Manage your SportsSignal subscription through Apple
• Delete your SportsSignal account

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as SportsSignal develops, our services change, or applicable legal requirements change.

When we make material changes, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.

The “Last Updated” date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy indicates when the policy was most recently revised.
